As Norfolk Dental Specialists moves towards its 20th anniversary, we’ve been reflecting on how much has happened since the early days. Nineteen years is a stretch in any profession, but in dentistry - where techniques, materials and expectations keep shifting - it feels even more significant. What started as a small specialist practice has grown into a place that thousands of patients have been referred to, and one that many local dentists now trust with their more complex cases.
We’ve built up a team we’re genuinely proud of: four GDC-registered specialists and two additional clinicians with advanced training in periodontics, prosthodontics and dental implant treatment. Add to that five hygienists and ten qualified dental nurses, and you end up with a practice where there’s always someone on hand who knows exactly what to do - whether it’s a straightforward review or a case that requires several clinicians to work together. That kind of collaborative approach has become one of the things that defines us.
Continuing to Support Our Colleagues in General Practice
Alongside treating patients, we’ve always believed it’s important to stay connected with the dentists who refer to us. Over the years, that’s meant running study groups, hands-on evenings, tutorials, and all sorts of sessions aimed at making specialist dentistry less mysterious and more practical for day-to-day use.
We don’t see these sessions as a lecture series; they’re more of an ongoing conversation about what good, evidence-based care looks like. When everyone feels confident and informed - dentists, hygienists, specialists, patients - treatment becomes clearer, calmer and simply better.
Next year we’ll be offering more of these opportunities, including a restorative study day, implant prosthodontics sessions with practical elements, and a few case-based evenings where we can talk through real examples rather than theoretical ones.
Our Commitment to the Local Community
We’re fortunate to work in a profession where you get to make a difference on a very personal level. It feels only right to share some of that goodwill more widely, which is why we support a number of grassroot projects across Norfolk.
One that means a great deal to us is Social Moments - recently named Community Organisation of the Year 2025 - which focuses on reducing loneliness in rural areas. We’re also proud to support the High Performance Foundation, a programme that helps young people build confidence, develop practical life skills, and feel more ready for whatever comes next.

As we head into a milestone year, we want to say thank you - properly and sincerely.
To our referring dentists: your trust means everything. The collaborative approach we’ve developed with so many of you is one of the strongest parts of the practice, and it makes a genuine difference to patient outcomes.
To our patients: thank you for choosing us, for recommending us, and for placing your confidence in our team. Specialist treatment can feel daunting at times, and we appreciate the trust you put in us every single day.
And finally, to our team - the specialists, the hygienists, the nurses, the reception staff and everyone behind the scenes. The compassion and attention you bring to your work is the reason the practice feels the way it does. It’s not a milestone unless the people behind it care, and this team really does.
Looking Ahead
Reaching twenty years doesn’t feel like a finish line. It feels more like a moment to regroup, take a breath and carry on doing what we’ve always done: deliver specialist care to a high standard, keep learning, keep improving, and stay rooted in the community that has supported us.
